Sessions
Sessions are particular contact points between practitioner and client, following a natural sequence from referral through to closure.
Session types
Each session has a type that reflects where the client is in their treatment journey:
Screening
Usually at first contact — may be conducted by telephone. Used to decide the next appropriate step. The client may then be allocated to another practitioner for a full assessment.
Assessment
The beginning of treatment. The practitioner assesses the nature of difficulties and the most appropriate way of working. Some treatment may be conducted during the assessment session.
Therapy 1:1 / Therapy Group
Subsequent appointments following assessment, continuing up to completion. This is where the main body of treatment is delivered and recorded.
Completion
When practitioner and client both feel it is appropriate to end treatment. Final measures are recorded to capture outcome data.
Follow-up
As many follow-up sessions as desired, conducted face-to-face, by telephone, or by email link. When all parties are happy to terminate engagement, the case can be closed.
Note
Standard installations come with this specific set of session types. Customised systems can have different session labels tailored to your service model.
Appointment form
The appointment form is the starting point for recording any session. Add the date and time, choose the session type, and select which measures to administer. The form creates the session record that you will return to during the appointment.
Session list
The session list is the home page for any particular client — it is the gateway to all captured data. It shows useful information about each appointment including attendance, treating practitioner, and primary measure score. Tabs allow navigation to all relevant sections of the client's record.
Session form
The session form is where all details of a particular session are captured. From here you can:
- Open measures for clients to complete on-screen in session
- Send email links to clients so they can complete measures remotely
- Fill in item answers yourself from a paper copy
- Capture a total score directly without entering individual items
Charts
Charts provide a visual representation of client scores on any and all measures, plus summary information of client progress over time. Charts can be shared with clients when working remotely, helping to bring them into the therapeutic conversation about change.
Client summary
The client summary provides a complete overview of the client's journey through treatment. It can be downloaded as a CSV file, which opens directly in Excel or Google Sheets. You can also print it to PDF via your browser's print function.
